This weeks service meeting! More craziness.....
by stuckinarut2 inso this weeks service meeting is so full of "crazy".
a whole 15 min part devoted to trying to indoctrinate everyone on how to "explain our beliefs on 1914".
then another 15 min part called "a tool to help us explain our beliefs about 1914".

They should have included a disclaimer in that video: The role of "householder" is being performed by a 30+ year bethelite. Actual householders will not waste time with WT cartoon publications and nonsense chronology. -

How many of these parts will now be handled by sisters? How many "talks by brothers" will be replaced by "demonstration/parts by sisters"? -

Are the GB very intelligent men with higher than average IQ? Or are they stupid men who were put in their position by sheer “LUCK”
by John Aquila inare the governing body of the wt wickedly smart with extremely high iq or are they leaders of the wt because they were at the right place at the right time.
(in other words, pure luck )-think lottery.
ive seen them talk in jwtv and you can never convince anyone in the whole world that these guys are in the same category as someone smart or cunning like jim simons who founded renaissance technologies or bill gates.

Their primary qualifications are the ability to nibble crackers and sip wine annually. -

I went down in the first Round!
by John Aquila inthere is a visitor brother in town and from what ive been told, he has been a missionary for many years and they were having a get together for him.
i took my mom to that get-together yesterday and stayed for a few minutes.
i heard a group around a table with the visitor brother talking about how hard it was getting in the world with so many distractions and that many of the brothers were falling into the trap and leaving jehovahs organization.

I've been trying to think of a suitable response to his statement. If I encounter something like that, maybe I'd try saying, "Cheer up, brother! Look on the bright side, the number of anointed partakers is reported as increasing over the past several years to a number not seen in decades!"

Hail the Theocracy, ever decreasing!!
"The little one will become a mighty nation... then it will become a little one again." The bible says so! And it's an identifying mark of da troof!
Of course, that trend has happened with plenty of religions long before JWs came along.

My Opinions on whats going on in WT land - Insider Information
by thedepressedsoul infirst off, i'd like to state that i currently have "privileges" in the congregation and volunteer at bethel on and off throughout the year.
that's as much information as i will currently give about myself.. starting off, i think something big is coming in the form of lawsuits and bad pr.
they seem to be batting down the hatches in preparation for something the last few years and even more so the last few months.

FMF: They were bragging during out watchtower how out congregation sends and extra $12k a year to the society.
Bragging about $12k per year?
- I've already paid more than $12k toward my student loan so far in the 9 months of this year.
- I haven't put $12k toward my retirement yet this year... but I will have by next month.
Tell them that WT needs more. $12k doesn't go as far as it used to.
For WT, the $850 million they've received from their Brooklyn properties didn't go very far either.

SING NO SAD SONGS FOR EX-BETHELITES
by steve2 inwhat happens to ex-bethelites is really of no concern to the gb.
and equally no concern to us as ex-jws or those who question jw organization.. layoffs have happened at headquarters and elsewhere for many, many years - although the scale this time is larger than previously, being an all time high: 1,600. .
for the record, we should spare any sympathy/empathy for those who are about to sent packing this time.

While I agree that we don't have to feel bad for them, I hope we see a lot of them wake up and come here. I will welcome them and give whatever support I can to help them learn, leave, and get on with a fantastic ex-Bethelite, ex-JW life ... like I have.
I left shortly before the official layoffs began. Some time later, I found my way here and received valuable support and encouragement. Some time later still, I heard that one of the nicer brothers that I'd worked with had been "sent to the field", and fatally shot himself. And just two years ago, a good friend that had been "sent to the field", also killed himself. A week later, a good friend of his also killed himself.
We all have reason to be angry with the organization, the GB, a Bronze Age desert god, some collection of self-righteous as$ho!es in the org. Please remember that there are plenty of good people that are still held captive in WT. I'd like to see them come out alive and enjoy the freedom and happiness that exists nowhere in JWdom.
So if any of those bethelites start showing up here, please help me roll out the welcome mat. I received a warm welcome when I came, and I can honestly say that it saved my life.

E-Mail, Just recived. About Bethell adjustments.
by DwainBowman ini just read an email from a friend, and she shared some very interesting emails from her friends about information on changes now happening at the bethels around the world.
here is the email: .
---------------------------------thanks sally, jesus is directing the org and all decisions and instructions to us may not seem practical from now on, neither will we understand the reasonings behind many of the changes that the organization makes.

Spin, spin, spin. Watchtower finances are falling apart, construction projects are suddenly grinding to a halt, the whole bethel structure is being shaken in ways previously unimaginable... and this is all "good news".
And as water poured in from the gash in the side of the Titanic, everyone exclaimed, "Look, the ship is getting fully washed from bow to stern!"

Latest rumor - all WT construction "suspended", except for Warwick
by sir82 inheard 4th-hand, but from a full-on believer, so not likely to be an "apostate lie":.
apparently, at bethel's morning worship this morning, it was announced that all worldwide wts construction is "suspended" for an indefinite time, except for the new world headquarters at warwick.. also, the "relocation" of remote translating teams is also suspended.. finally, there will be a "worldwide" reduction in bethel personnel.. all this came to me in a non-english language, and,as noted, 4th-hand.
so it is possible something may have been lost in translation and/or in the multiple steps between bethel morning worship & me.. but if true, it would be quite stunning.

I think things really turned a corner when WT released that video showing Sparlock the Warrior Wizard getting thrown in the trash.
A Bronze Age desert god is no match for the great Warrior Wizard! The wrath of Sparlock has come down on the insolent WT Corp!

World Wide Construction comes to a Shuddering Halt - Jehovah's Blessing has Evidently been Suspended!
by Slidin Fast inthe chelmsford project in the uk has already come to a halt and every one has been sent home.
the bethel family in london is to be cut by several hundred.
my impression is that most ambitious youngster in the org dream of being involved with the building program.

Evidently the Bronze Age desert god never got the message from Jesus about counting the cost before building a tower.
